The owner of the Olympic gold winner Big Star (Quick Star x Nimmerdor) purchased an embryo of Big Star during the auction at Zangersheide. Gary Widdowson, the owner, is probably hoping for a similar amazing success story that he experienced with the 'original' Big Star. Big Star won individual gold under Nick Skelton at the Olympics in Rio.
Besides the embryo of Big Star, more embryos were auctioned at Zangersheide. One of them was the embryo of AES-mare Spirit T, a horse we know from British rider Jessica Mendoza.
We will have to wait and see if these embryos live up to all those high expectations.
