The Jacksonville Spring Classic Hunter Series returns to the Jacksonville Equestrian Center

The Jacksonville Equestrian Center in Jacksonville, Florida is excited to once again host the Jacksonville Spring Classics – three weeks of hunter and jumper competition produced by the Classic Company. For many riders who spent the winter competing at horse shows in Florida, the Jacksonville Spring Classics make the perfect place to wrap up the winter circuit. The Jacksonville Equestrian Center will greet competitors with an enormous indoor stadium, outdoor rings, over 400 permanent stalls, 78 RV spaces with water and electric hook ups, and close proximity to hotels, restaurants, world-class golf, beaches, and downtown Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Spring Classic I will take place from Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9. This show will be a USEF A-rated Junior Amateur Show, and will include the $10,000 Jumper Classic. The Jacksonville Spring Classic II will take place from Tuesday, April 11 through Saturday, April 15. This week will include a $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby sponsored by Glen Kerman Golf and Country Club, and a $35,000 American Standard Grand Prix. The Jacksonville Spring Classic III will be held from Wednesday, April 19 through Sunday, April 23. This show will also feature a $35,000 American Standard Grand Prix. The Jacksonville Spring Classic is rated USEF JR/AM, USEF Level 3, USEF Premier, USEF Level 4, and offers Opportunity Classes for those riders who are not USEF members and want to compete at a USEF rated competition. The series offers over $260,000 in prize money.

The Jacksonville Equestrian Center’s indoor arena and its stadium feel are unique, and the outside rings, outdoor derby field, ideal footing, beautiful jumps, and friendly, professional staff are all highlights of jumping in Jacksonville. After the inaugural Jacksonville Spring Classic at the facility last year, Bob Bell, president and founder of the Classic Company, said, “This is a real horse show facility – It was meant to be an equestrian facility and the people who are running it understand the horses.”

This year, the management of the Jacksonville Equestrian Center has announced the construction of two new rings and a schooling area to be finished before the Jacksonville Spring Classics are underway. This will be an outstanding addition to the facility and The Classic Company’s shows there. The Classic Company has been organizing equestrian show jumping competitions for nearly 30 years. The organization’s competitions span four states and are noted for the southern hospitality that the Classic Company brings to each event. The Classic Company has even been awarded the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA)’s Member Choice Award for providing excellent customer service to competitors.
