Tom Doherty announced as Junior High Performance Eventing Team Manager

Horse Sport Ireland has today announced that Tom Doherty has been appointed the new Junior High Performance Eventing Team Manager. Tom Doherty from Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim, is steeped in equestrian knowledge with competition experience Eventing at CCI3* and Showjumping up to 1.50m. Tom is a HSI level 2 Coach and has held the position of Showjumping Coach for the Pony Eventing Team since 2015.

Speaking about his appointment Tom said; “I am delighted to expand my role with the Junior Eventing High Performance Programme and to continue my involvement with the riders as they progress through the Youth High Performance Pathway. There is a great pool of riders available, previous team manager Debbie Byrne has a proven system in place and I look forward to continued success with the Junior Eventing Team.”

The role was previously held by Ireland’s Young Rider High Performance Team Manager, Debbie Byrne, from 2011 to 2017.
