Michael and William Whitaker battle it out in The Bunn Leisure Derby Trial
There were in total three clear rounds in the derby of Hickstead. Two of those riders were Michael and William Whitaker. William was just fast enough to beat Michael but got 4 faults in his jump off. Michael rode a double clear round with Viking (by Jacomar) and had in his jump off a time of 71.50 seconds.

William came into the arena with Glenavadra Brillian (by Brilliant Lad) and had a faster time but got 4 faults. The third participant in the jump off was Joss Williams with Culmore Prospect (by White Clover) and ended with a total of 8 faults.

The fastest in the first round with four faults was Steven Franks with under his saddle Carlow Cruiser (by Cruising) and Philip Miller with Unbelievable Lady (by Unbelievable Darco).
