Steve Guerdat claims Stuttgart's world cup Grand Prix
The fifth leg of the Western European world cup liga started with Swedish show jumping rider Henrik von Eckermann on top of the ranking. No less than 16 combinations qualified for the jump-off of this 1.60m Grand Prix.

Not many made a mistake in the second round. Eventually it was former Olympic Champion and worldcup champion, Steve Guerdat who speeded to victory. In the saddle of the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood-mare, Hannah (by Dulf van den Bisschop), Guerdat crossed the finish clear in 48.19 seconds.

The mare was bred by Paul Coppens in Sint-Lievens-Houtem, Belgium. Germany's Philipp Weishaupt followed as runner-up aboard the 10-year-old Diamant de Semilly-daughter, Asathir. Weishaupt finished in 48.76 seconds with Abdullah Salem S Bahamdan's brown mare.

Last year's winner, Christian Ahlmann placed third. Together with Epleaser van 't Heike (by For Pleasure) the Zangersheide-rider stayed ahead of Simone Blum.

Blum already won two classes this week as well as placing several times. This time she finished fourth with the Askari-daughter, DSP Alice. The top five was completed by Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and the 12-year-old SF-gelding, Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Mar.

Guerdat won a nice new Mercedes-Benz car with his victory.
