United Arab Emirates take Longines Challenge Cup in Barcelona
Today the Longines Challenge Cup saw the United Arab Emirates jumping to glory in Barcelona. The non-selected countries for the final round of the FEI Nations Cup finals battled it out in today's Longines Challenge Cup. Eventually there was no need for a jump-off after a strong result of the UAE team.

The United Arab Emirates jumped to a total of three points. Last rider to go, Sheikh Majid Al Qassimi did not start with his 10-year-old KWPN-sire, Celtion (by Veron). All other combinations left the rails in the untouched.

Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi and his 12-year-old Chacco-Blue-daugther, Cha Cha Cha 7 were the only clear round for the UAE. Both  Abdullah Mohd Al Marri (Sama Dubai Fbh, by Stakkato) and Mohammed Ghanem Al Hajri (Pour Le Poussage, by Polytraum) jumped around the 1.60m track with time penalties.

The Irish squad just didn't make it yesterday for the selections of tomorrow. This bitter taste was still in their mind, resulting in a second place. Only Shane Breen kept it clear aboard his 10-year-old Lord Z-son, Laith.

Both Bertram Allen (Moly Malone V, by Kannan) and Shane Sweetnam (Chaqui Z, by Chacco-Blue) jumped one rail down. Denis Lynch jumped to a total of 9 points with his trusted All Star 5 (by Argentinus). With a total of 9 points the Irish squad stayed ahead of team Brazil.
