Ward McLain takes home the world cup win in Toronto
Yesterday the Royal Fair in Toronto, Ontario, concluded the day with the 1.60m World cup qualifier. Nick Skelton and the 13-year-old Big Start, the Olympic Champions of Rio 2016, impressed. The Quick Star-son and Skelton completed their one out of five jump-off in 37.26 seconds, but with one jumping fault.

 

Only USA's Olympic rider, Ward McLain and the 10-year-old sBs-mare HH Azur (by Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) completed the track faultless. The pair crossed the finish in 36.02 seconds. Compatriot, Kent Farrington took all the risks aboard the 9-year-old KWPN-gelding Creedance (by Lord Z). The pair stopped the clock in 35.19 seconds, with one jumping fault.

Earlier that day Shane Sweetnam took home the victory, in the world cup the Irish show jumping rider placed outside the stage on the fourth place. Together with the Zangersheide-sire Chaqui Z (by Chacco-Blue), he was followed by Mac Cone and the Belgian Warmblood-sire Gasper van den Doorn (Calvaro Z x Larome).
