Retirement for Legolas in april

The former Grand Prix and olympic horse of Steffen Peters, Legolas, will retire in april this year. The gelding was seen the last year under the saddle of Dawn White-O'Connor the stable rider for Peters. Yesterday she won the World Cup Grand Prix in Temecula with a score of 66.192% with Legolas. Owner Akiko Yamazaki has announced that Legolas will retire near the end of april.

"Dawn will start three more times with Legolas this year", tells Yamazaki. The show in Temecula was one out of the four CDI West Coast Dressage Festival shows and will complete with the show in California in april. This is the show where Legolas will formally say goodbye to the dressagesport.

It's now exactly one year ago that Dawn en Legolas made their debute as a team. Last year the duo finished in a second place during the World Cup of Las Vegas, right behind Steffen Peters. A few months later she won the Grand Prix and the Special in San Juan Capistrano with Legolas.
