New Grand Prix horse for Gregory Wathelet
Belgium's top show jumping rider, Gregory Wathelet has welcomed a new Grand Prix horse in his stables. The 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, Hija van Strokapelleken (f. Calido I) has joined Wathelet.

The new pair debuts today at the Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard. The BWP-mare was bred by Andre Van Den Nest and produced as a young mare at an international level by Roger Yves Bost. Later Bost's compatriots, Timothee Anciaume and Pénélope Leprévost took over the reins. With Leprévost the mare jumped to victory in the 2016 CSI3* Grand Prix at Le Touquet.

That same year Jennifer Gates acquired the Calido I-daughter. While later it was her boyfriend, Nayel NAssar who competed the mare. Beginning this year McLain Ward guided Hija four times to victory at the Winter Equestrian Festival and placed fourth in the CSI5* Grand Prix in Wellington.

Now it is Gregory Wathelet who'll be competing the mare.
